My academic focus is digital production such as web development, videography, photography, and graphic design. Currently, I have a Bachelors Degree In Arts (Major Digital Media Studies) from Vancouver Island University and a certificate in Digital Communication as well as Digital Production Writing and Design From Camosun College.
Since 2013, I have created a multitude of websites. I have mainly created the websites by way of Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Weebly and Wordpress. I have since 2017, been transitioning and started to develop websites in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript, and NextJS. I am currently in the middle of maintaining my personal website and portfolio (Donald Louch) and a few projects, such as, a video CMS (OpusVid) and a link hub (DevLexicon Links). I further, have done some client work with creating and maintaining websites for a Magazine (The Fishbowl Magazine), an Animal Rescue organization (RAR Victoria), and a community farm (Fieldstone Community Farm). I have additionally, been creating digital content such as YouTube videos since 2007, and taking pictures of the world around me since 2008. In 2015, my Graphic Design class from Camsoun, did the complete redesign of the print material for Crime Stoppers Greater Victoria (I did their Facebook banner at the time).
My responsibilities encompass training newly hired crew members at McDonald's, as well as providing timely reminders and follow-up sessions to ensure adherence to proper procedures. In addition, I remain an active crew member, performing diverse duties such as operating the Point of Sale (POS) system for both drive-thru and front counter orders, assembling orders, preparing beverages and ice cream desserts, maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby and my work areas, and fulfilling other general responsibilities.

My main task at McDonald’s is a Guest Experience Leader where I am takes with making sure customers are enjoying their experience at McDonald’s. Along with that I am a general crew member where I am tasked with taking customers orders, assembling orders with their food, fries, drinks, and desserts. I further do the same type of duties in the Drive Thru.

I managed the student Takeovers on the VIU social mediums such as Snapchat. This position also included the “Facebook Live Coordinator” role in which I was tasked with live streaming the VIU Convocations. I was additionally, tasked with transferring old video tapes and converting those to digital copies. I further helped with crowd control for the compliance of the flying drone laws.

I volunteered at the 2019 Rock VIU: Welcome to Campus (W2C) Student Orientation. My task was to help the organization team with the organizing of the event. Furthermore, creating all the print and digital material for the event. I also, lead a group of volunteers and students so that the navigation of the day went smooth.

I have since then had a title change to "Social Media Takeover Coordinator" and now manage student Takeovers on the VIU social mediums such as Snapchat. In addition to upkeep of the Snapchat account.

I am to lead the social media team for Fun@VIU! I am tasked with creating posts on the Fun@VIU social media such as Facebook and Instagram followed by maintaining the comments on the posts, and communicating with the general community through messages and the Fun@VIU email.

I have been hired on as a summer work-op for the first ever Snapchat Coordinator position at VIU! I am tasked with researching best practices with Snapchat then to apply them to a brand new Snapchat account dedicated to VIU and the students.
I have built the website for Res Animal Rescue. I have modified a theme from UpFront and created something that the client asked for and made a design that is easy for the reader to view.
I am re-designing the website for the Fieldstone Community Farm. I am making the design a little more modern and editing the content as well as, expanding there core audience uses. I am using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript markup to construct this website.
From creating the website with a few of my classmates for a class project to updating it every month with the latest issue and the latest updates.
I was a stage crew member for Matthew Lopez on November 23rd, 2014. I volunteered on the music video for “O Holy Night” by Tristan Thompson. I did tasks such as buying decoration and decorated the set. Help the lighting director set up the lighting for the video. I further, helped with setup and cleanup before the shoot started. I also queued and played the song in the final scene.
I was the front stage manager at Royal Roads on May 11th, 2014 as well as on May 10th, 2015. I volunteered during the nineteenth and tenth annual Mother’s Day Paint in and Craft Fair at Royal Roads University. I did tasks such as meeting up with all the talents and helping them with their stage setup and tear down. I furthermore, introduced each of the acts and also announcing the main events that were going on with the addition of thanking each of the sponsors.

I was a videographer for Antica Productions on September 13th and 15th, 2013. I helped with Antica Productions at the 2013 Rifflandia Music Festival. I was tasked with casting people to be in a fan based music video for two songs. I further, did filming for the music video.
I have been hired by different clients to build websites for them. I have constructed two of the websites from templates and a CMS site which is WordPress. I have further, created a website for a client with only HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript markup. I have further been tasked with maintaining the websites and installing new updates and updating information. With this I am branching my knowledge within web to media productions to produce the end product.
In the summer of 2013, I was given the opportunity to take a summer internship at my high school (Westshore Centre for Learning and Training) as a technology support technician. My tasks included installing and configuring network devices. With the addition of diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of hardware, software and security issues throughout the network. I additionally helped my teachers build and maintain a class site as well as doing iPad support and installation and updating.
